Eye cream. It’s funny how such a small word causes women to go into a full blown panic. When I turned 25, six months ago, I decided it was time to use eye cream. Not because I have wrinkles, but because I wanted to use it as a form of preventative care. I’ve tried a few different eye creams that are available on the market and they’ve all left the same impressions. Quite honestly, I didn’t see any difference between the eye creams and my regular facial moisturizer so I felt that the eye creams were a huge waste of money and time. That all changed however, after I tried Skinn Cosmetics’ Eye Stem Rejen by Dimitri James.

Why I love it: The consistency is amazing…not too thick, but not too thin. It doesn’t feel like lotion at all which I love. The Eye Stem Rejen feels like it belongs on a delicate area like the eye. Although I don’t have dark circles or wrinkles I can see a difference in my skin after applying the serum; it looks a bit brighter and more awake. Needless to say I would definitely purchase this for myself and for family members!

Packaging: The packaging is genius. The serum comes in a nice, sleek bottle that has a pump. Pumps to me are crucial and can be the determining factor as to whether or not I will purchase the item again. The pump on this bottle works great because it allows me to control how much product comes out. I also love that the bottle is see-through so that I know how much product is left.

How it works: Simply pump out the smallest amount of product, a little goes a long way. It is always better to use too little since you can always add more product. Get a dab of the serum on your ring finger and gently dab (or massage) into the skin around your eye and even on your eyelid. Always use your ring finger when applying product under your eye since the skin is so delicate and your ring finger isn’t as heavy as your other fingers.

Bottom line: I can’t say that Eye Stem Rejen has cured me of my wrinkles because I don’t have any…yet. What I can say is that it feels great on my skin and does not leave behind a greasy residue. Nor does my skin feel irritated after use. I gave my mom and stepmom (both in their 40s) a sample and they were in love with this stuff! The only problem they had is that they ran out! For $48 you will get a 0.5oz bottle. Although it may seem pricey it will last a long time and it is well worth it. You can purchase Eye Stem Rejen online on the Skin Cosmetics’ website.

Curél® Itch Defense® Review

With so many different brands of lotion on the market it can be overwhelming to decide which one will best fit your specific needs. Of course you will read each bottle in an attempt to figure out which one will cure your symptoms, but ultimately you’re taking a chance on something that you hope will work. I’ve been given the opportunity to try Curél’s® Itch Defense® lotion and am here to share my findings with you.

First, here are some important things you should know about Curél® Itch Defense® Lotion (this information has been provided to me):

1.      1.  The breakthrough formula rebalances four essential components of healthy skin which includes the following:

·         Ceramides: Restores skin’s barrier function and regulates skin’s ability to hold moisture

Less is definitely more when it comes to this lotion. The first time I used it I had so much lotion on my body that when I got into bed my sheets started to absorb the lotion. This had absolutely nothing to do with the lotion itself, I just used way too much. Luckily, the lotion didn’t alter the color of my sheets or leave any stains behind.

Every time I use this lotion I am amazed at how it works. My hands had gotten dry to the point where I could see my skin starting to flake. I applied Curél’s® Itch Defense® Lotion and instantly felt the relief. How the lotion feels when it is first applied is a bit hard to describe – originally I thought it felt thick and that it was going to be greasy, but the more I rubbed my hands together I started to realize that it’s quite lightweight and very moisturizing. My skin absorbs the lotion and there is no greasy film or stickiness left behind. Only soft, smooth hands. I can’t stop rubbing my hands together because they feel so soft! I also don’t have to wait for my hands to dry before touching anything which is a huge plus! Although scented lotions can be fun, I am glad that this one is fragrance-free. I’d rather use a lotion that does what it says it will than one that smells yummy and under performs.

I think Curél® Itch Defense® Lotion works like a charm. I don’t suffer from eczema or overly dry, itchy skin, but my skin is quite sensitive and it tends to go out of whack when the seasons change. This will definitely be my go to lotion for the winter! This lotion isn’t something that you use once and you are automatically cured of your skin dilemma, but I can see how it can fix your skin after continued use.

It’s a Haul #1: I’m a LUSH!

No, I don’t mean I’m an alcoholic . . . I’m a Lush (or a Lushie as most people like to call themselves). After not stepping foot in a Lush store for about 2 years I decided it was time to give the store another try. I did so while in NYC for my birthday and I’ve been hooked, no wait, OBSESSED ever since! So obsessed that I’ve decided to do my first haul all about Lush!

I’d like to take a moment to let you know that I am NOT affiliated with Lush by ANY means. As you can tell, I wasn’t exaggerating when I said that I am OBSESSED with this store! I’ve been to Lush 4 times in the past month. I can’t say enough great things about this store. If you live in Mass, the Lush in Natick and Peabody are amazing including the staff (I haven’t been to the other locations in Mass, but I’m sure they’re just as awesome). I should probably buy stock in Lush . . . either that or just work there to pay for my obsession.

The Best Shaving Cream I've Ever Used!

To me, shaving is a very tedious task.  It has always taken me forever to shave my legs which is probably why I dread shaving them.  Regardless as to how I feel about shaving it is something that I must do.  I found a shaving cream that I absolutely love which is great because shaving seems like less of a chore now.

This shaving cream is exactly what the name says.  It is a gel so a little goes a very long way.  I suggest getting a little onto your hand, rubbingr hands together to create a lather, then apply it to the area that you’re going to shave.  If you need more gel you can always apply more after.  The gel turns into a very soft cream that feels great on my skin and it is very easy to shave through.  Another plus is that it smells great!

Want great skin and free sample products?!

If you’re like me, you’ve tried countless products in order to get perfect skin.  Each product resulted in the same thing – my wallet was lighter and my skin was anything but perfect.  I recently heard about a website that gives free samples for filling out a questionnaire.  I thought, “Great!  Who couldn’t use free products?!” What I wasn’t expecting was to find a product that I not only like, but actually works!

The company is Mario Badescu.

The questionnaire is simple; they ask you questions about you!  It’s all based on your skin type so that they will know what products to send you.  The only catch is that you need to know what type of skin you have, if you aren’t sure they will end up sending you products that won’t work for your skin.  I’m sure you can look up your skin type online or even go to a makeup store and they can tell you.  But that is it….no catch!  No fine print no paying for shipping and handling.

After filling out the questionnaire you will receive an email about 48 hours (maybe longer) later.  The email will contain suggested products and they will ask if you would like to try some sample products.  YOU MUST CLICK ON THAT AND AGREE TO RECEIVING THE PRODUCTS OR ELSE THEY WON’T BE SENT!

Then you just wait for the mail to come.  You will receive an envelope filled with products that were hand picked for you.  Along with the products you will also receive their catalogue (in case you want to buy the products) as well as a personalized card that explains the products they sent as well as how/when to use them.

I am beyond satisfied with my sample package.  I thought I was only going to receive 1 or 2 samples, but I received 6!  I loved that I got my own personalized card that explained how to use everything.  I recently found out that Mario Badescu products are sold at ULTA and NORDSTROMS (for those of you that don’t like to purchase online or just want to see the product in person).  The products are for both men and women and they even sell shaving cream!

I actually spoke with a Mario Badescu representative at ULTA today and she was very helpful.  I also purchased some products because I loved my samples so much!  I could instantly feel a difference in my skin (I know it sounds weird, but it’s true!)

The one thing about the products is that they are on the pricey side…however it is totally worth it!  A 16oz. cleanser costs $20 which I think is totally reasonable considering you don’t need much product.  Also, the design of the bottles is pure genuis.  There’s easy to pour spouts so if you’re travelling you can pour the product into a smaller container without having to worry about a mess!
