Gemvara.com is a fine jewelry e-tailer that is based in Boston, Massachusetts. It was launched in March 2010 by 26-year-old Babson College graduate, Matt Lauzon. What sets Gemvara apart from other fine jewelers you ask? The ability to customize over 1,500 original designs with 26 different gems and 8 precious metals. Gemvara allows you to create jewelry that is not only unique, but has a personal touch. Traditional jewelry stores limit their customers to the jewelry that are in the cases, but Gemvara has no inventory. Instead, each piece of jewelry is handcrafted in the United States as soon as an order comes in. Their website has the ability to swap out gems and metals in order for customers to get a real idea as to how their finished creation will look. The price of the piece is reflected each time an option is changed.
Just a few weeks ago, Gemvara.com launched The Naked Gems Collection, a sexy, stylish assortment of bold, statement-making earrings, pendants, and rings. This collection can also be customized with 26 gems and 8 precious metals. Prices start around $250 and go up to thousands of dollars depending on the gem and metal combination you choose. The Naked Gems Collection was designed by Corinne Grousbeck, VP, Brand Marketing for Gemvara.com and wife of Celtics co-owner, Wyc Grousbeck.
